Your life list, brought to life
Log sightings with notes and photos, browse your BirdDex, and see pixel-art birds join your collection as you record them.
Bring your existing list
Import a supported CSV, including an eBird My Data export. FieldDex checks for duplicate sightings so you can keep building on your birding history.
Listen for your next discovery
Sound identification runs on your device using BirdNET+. Review its suggestions and confirm the bird yourself before adding a sighting. Results are suggestions and may be incorrect, especially in noisy recordings.
Explore nearby birds
Look up recent nearby observations and explore reference photos and calls. Nearby observations and online reference media require an internet connection. Location access is used for nearby searches; microphone and camera permissions support recording and sighting photos.
Help with permissions
If recording, the camera, or nearby results are unavailable, check FieldDex’s permissions in your device’s Settings. For online reference features, also check your internet connection.
