Plasticam is an iPhone video camera and effects app developed by Kevin Chaves. No account is required. This policy describes the app and support provided through this website.
Recording and on-device processing
With camera permission, Plasticam records video on your iPhone. With microphone permission, it can record sound with that video. Microphone access is optional; new recordings have no microphone audio when that permission is unavailable. Some camera modes intentionally save silent video or offer an audio setting.
Camera effects and audio processing run on your device using bundled resources. Plasticam does not upload your recordings or imported videos to a developer-operated processing or library service. The app does not include advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics services and does not use an advertising identifier.
Selected-video import and Photos export
Apple’s system photo picker lets you select an existing video to import. The selected video is copied into local app storage for processing; it is not uploaded to the developer. Apple services may need to retrieve a selected item stored in iCloud.
With your permission, Plasticam can add completed videos to Photos. Successfully saved videos are also kept in the app’s local library, even when Photos access is denied. Photos and iCloud Photos manage those separate copies according to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy practices.
Local settings, library, and recovery
Plasticam stores preferences, camera and effect choices, completed videos, and recording information such as dates, camera modes, orientation, and local file identifiers on your device. This information supports the camera interface, gallery, playback, and saving.
Completed captures and selected imports awaiting processing retain a local original and frozen effect settings. Plasticam resumes unfinished processing when reopened. Originals are removed after a permanent library copy succeeds; failed processing can leave an original and its settings available for recovery. Closing the app during active recording can interrupt that capture.
Temporary processing files may remain until cleanup or removal of the app’s data. Device backups may include app data according to your device and Apple account settings. Plasticam does not operate its own cloud-sync service.
Sharing and external links
Sharing uses the iOS share sheet. The video goes to the destination, app, or person you choose. That recipient handles its copy under its own storage and privacy practices; Plasticam does not control those copies. Review footage and any file metadata before sharing anything private.
Opening a support or privacy link loads the selected website. Its hosting providers receive ordinary request information, such as the requested URL and IP address, to deliver and protect the site. Sending an email uses the email service you choose.
Retention, deletion, and permission choices
You can change Camera, Microphone, and Photos permissions in iPhone Settings. Revoking permission stops the corresponding future access but does not erase videos already saved. Imported videos may contain sound even if you have not granted microphone permission.
Deleting a recording from Plasticam removes its local gallery copy and library entry. It does not remove an existing copy in Photos, a shared copy, or a backup. Pending processing originals are separate from gallery copies.
Deleting Plasticam and its data from your iPhone removes its local library, settings, and pending work. Offloading the app may retain its data. Save or share important recordings first. Manage Photos copies, backups, and files held by other services using their own controls.
Support correspondence and this website
If you contact Kevin Chaves, your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send are used to respond and troubleshoot. These records are handled through email and website hosting providers and are separate from your Plasticam library. They are not used for advertising. Send only what is needed to explain the problem.
This website’s contact form stores the name, email address, and message you submit in a private support inbox and may send an email notification. Support records are retained as needed to handle your request and related follow-up. You can request deletion of information you sent to the developer by emailing the address below, subject to any applicable recordkeeping requirements.
Apple services
Apple handles App Store purchases, TestFlight, device backups, and other Apple services under its own terms and privacy practices. These services are separate from Plasticam’s on-device video processing.
