Import your audiobooks
- Save a compatible DRM-free audiobook to Files.
- Open ChapterKeep’s Library and tap Import.
- Select the file, check its details, and save it to your library.
Supported formats include M4B, M4A, MP3, AAC, and FLAC. For a ZIP containing audiobook tracks, use Settings → Zip import.
Audiobooks are not included. ChapterKeep cannot unlock protected files from subscription services.
Listen offline
Imported audio is copied into ChapterKeep’s storage, so you can listen without an internet connection after importing. Keep your original files as a backup.
Continue on another device
Enable “Sync listening position” in Settings on both devices, use the same Apple account for iCloud, and import the same audiobook on each device. ChapterKeep syncs your position; it does not transfer the audio files.
If a position has not appeared, check your connection and iCloud settings, then use “Get iCloud Position” in Now Playing.
Find chapters and saved moments
Now Playing includes Chapters, Bookmark, Quote, and History. Available chapters depend on the audiobook’s metadata. History lets you return to recent playback positions.
Manage storage and history
Deleting a book removes its imported audio from ChapterKeep. An archived record can keep its rating, review, and other library details. To remove that record, open Settings → Rating history and swipe to delete it.
Settings also lets you export library metadata as JSON and ratings as CSV. These exports do not back up audiobook audio. Turning off iCloud sync stops future syncing but does not erase existing iCloud progress records.
Online features and privacy
Cover searches, online suggestions, external book links, and iCloud progress sync require an internet connection. Online discovery can send book-related queries to external services. Read the ChapterKeep privacy policy for the details.
