Sightline
Open a script. Set your eyeline. Press play.
A calm place to rehearse and prompt. Read from your iPad or Mac, adjust the pace, and control the session from a nearby iPhone, iPad, or paired Apple Watch.
Coming to the App Store · Free to try · One-time Full Access purchase · No subscription
Start your first prompt
- Open Sightline on your iPad or Mac and create or import a script.
- Select the script and press Play to open Studio Setup.
- Choose a comfortable pace, font, reading width, margins, and eyeline. Preview any mirroring before using a mirror rig.
- Start the prompt. Tap the script to show or hide the on-screen controls.
The iPhone app is a companion controller, not the full script-library host. iPad can switch between teleprompter and controller roles.
Connect an iPhone or iPad remote
Open the remote-host controls on the iPad or Mac, then find that host from Remote mode on the controller. Follow the pairing-code and Allow prompts. Grant local-network access when requested.
Keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled on both devices and keep them nearby. Internet access is not required for local prompting or remote control. A connection to the same Wi-Fi network can help with discovery; peer-to-peer availability depends on the devices and environment.
Keep Sightline in the foreground on both devices. The controller keeps its screen awake during an active session. Manually locking or backgrounding the phone can interrupt the connection; reopen Sightline and reconnect if needed.
Play, scroll, and edit from the controller
With the host library visible, highlight one non-empty script. Press Play on the phone to open that script using its saved countdown and start position. If a prompt is already open, Play/Pause controls that session.
Use the speed slider to change pace. Trackpad mode lets you drag to reposition the host script; Scroll and Scrub offer different levels of movement. Script mode shows a readable live preview. Enable Manual Scroll to drag the script itself, or expand the preview for a full-screen confidence monitor.
Quick Edit updates the host script. The eye button shows or hides the host’s controls; unlock controls on the host first if they are locked. Less-used options, including output mirroring, are in the menu.
Use Apple Watch
- Install Sightline on the paired iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Keep the iPhone unlocked with Sightline open, and connect its remote to the iPad or Mac.
- Open Sightline on the Watch. Use Play/Pause or cue controls once the relay is ready.
- On the Crown page, choose Scroll or Speed and turn the Digital Crown.
The Watch communicates through the paired iPhone; it does not connect directly to an iPad or Mac. A locked phone cannot maintain this relay. “Host confirmed” means the host acknowledged the action. After a lost connection, check the host before retrying; expired actions are not queued for later playback.
Voice Follow
Voice Follow matches your spoken words to the script using on-device speech recognition. It requires iOS, iPadOS, or macOS 26 or later and a supported speech language. Allow microphone access and let the speech assets finish downloading on first use. After the required assets are installed, recognition runs on your device.
For a steady result, speak clearly near the microphone and start near the displayed passage. Use Re-sync Voice Follow if the reading position is lost. You can switch back to a regular scrolling mode at any time.
Recording and external displays
Camera and microphone access are requested when those features are used. Save or share completed recordings using the available controls. Display connections and recording options depend on your device and accessories. Preview the output before a live take; system screen mirroring is different from Sightline’s clean talent output.
Purchases and backups
Full Access is a single non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. The purchase screen shows the current App Store price for your region. To recover a purchase, use Restore Purchases with the Apple account that made it.
Keep backups of important scripts. Exporting a script and creating a full Sightline backup are different actions. Private iCloud library sync is not enabled in this release; don’t rely on it to transfer or back up scripts.
